Well, I didn't expect this to be the subject of my first post on here.
So, over the past few days, Enter has been getting... quite a bit of hate regarding his take on the Pixar movie, Turning Red. Now, this post isn't necessarily about whether I agree with his takes or not, as I haven't seen the movie myself, but I just wanted to take a few minutes to just vent about this whole "Enter is the worst person ever" debacle. Plain and simple... ITS. STUPID!!!
I can't believe how merciless people are being towards poor John. Has our society really gotten to the point where we're willing to dunk on a guy who, for all intents and purposes, is just trying to make a living just because he made a controversial take on a movie that people took completely out of context? Whatever happened to respectful disagreements and trying to see both sides of the argument? Are we forever doomed to just turn on each other like a pack of wolves and rip each other to shreds for--quite frankly, petty things like this? I understand that Enter has said some very controversial things in the past, but to call him the worst reviewer in the YouTube cartoon community because of all of this is just... RGGHH, it just makes me so angry! Especially since this is far from the worst thing Enter has ever done.
It's things like this that make me wonder if the world would be better off if social media was just never invented because if this is what people are taking time out of their day to do, then they are just as bad--if not worse--than what they claim Enter to be. Is what he said about the movie not accurately reflecting post-9/11 culture a stupid take? Maybe it is, I don't know. But there are far, far worse takes on that movie out there. It's not like he's saying that the film is a menace to society for being so daring as to touch on the themes of female puberty. At the end of the day, he just found the movie average. That is it. He didn't say it was the next The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie or the worst piece of garbage to ever materialize on the planet Earth, it just wasn't his cup of tea. I have to say, it's pretty sad when General Johnny Rae (f.k.a MegadoopTV), someone who has frequently criticized Enter and his reviews in the past, when even he thinks that all of this negative press he's been getting is ridiculous, that's saying something.
And I think what makes me more angry about this than anything else is when people formerly associated with Enter like StarGiantProductions and CrimsonMayhem are joining in on the hate bandwagon. Like, guys. You don't work for him anymore and what he says or does is no longer of relevance to you. Just focus on your own lives and your own careers and move on from him. Yes, I will concede that the whole "I revived 9/11 tweets faster than [Crimson] was able to edit a video" comeback was a bit rude and a bit uncalled for, but considering that Crimson has defamed Enter in the past and even bought into the whole "Enter condones his Discord moderator doxing someone" thing, I don't think he's one to talk about "Enter has failed us." And as for StarGiant, you can't expect me to believe that you're annoyed at Enter's comments about not reflecting post-9/11 paranoia in a movie set in 2002 when you yourself have claimed that Randy from South Park was the cause of COVID and that a Game of Thrones reference is equivalent to pedophilia. Oh, and by the way, whatever happened to "I'm never going to talk about Enter again?" (sigh) What a world.
I know this is all a bit disorganized and all over the place, but I suppose what I want you all to take away from my little rant here is this: if you agree with Enter, good for you. If you disagree with Enter, good for you. Just keep in mind that we're all human and we all have different tastes and different opinions. While I firmly believe that opinions should be open for discussion, mocking him, making parody accounts, and even donating money to him while saying that he sucks and that you're unsubscribing from his channel, is far from graceful. You can all be wise and respectfully agree; I know you all have the capability of doing that.
With all of that finally off my chest, thank you all for reading and goodbye for now.
